The treatment involves
2000 vibrations or "shocks" to an injured area. This
treatment is aimed at improving healing, especially for
chronic injuries such as bone spurs, tendonitis or plantar fasciitis. Several treatments 1 - 2 weeks apart may be
required.
Patients are often recommended to try other measures before
using shock wave therapy. Treatment should be avoided by
people who are on Warfarin, who have a pace maker or who are
pregnant.
All treatments must be paid for at the time of
treatment. Currently there is no Medicare/health fund rebate
for this treatment. Your practitioner will also charge you a
consultation fee which is claimable from Medicare.
If you have any further questions or wish to make an
appointment please do not hesitate to contact the Clinic.
