Qualifications

Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy)

The minimum requirement for becoming a physiotherapist. All physiotherapists do a 4 year full time university undergraduate course.


Graduate Diploma Manipulative Therapy

On year full time course in musculo-skeletal and spinal manipulative therapy. Physiotherapists who have completed this course are the perceived experts in back and neck care.


APA Titled sports Physiotherapist

An APA titled Sports physiotherapist has been involved in formal post graduate education which requires a greater level of interest and commitment over a number of years and involves the therapist having an expected level of clinical experience.


Specialist Sports Physiotherapist

Is a clinical specialist that is an APA titled sports physiotherapist who is highly skilled in assessing difficult and complex musculo-skeletal conditions. Such a therapist has satisfied the Australian College of Physiotherapists that they have highly advanced clinical skills and expertise and as such they have been admitted into the College as a Fellow.

Nationally there are less than 20 Specialist Sports physiotherapists, Liz Steet is South Sydney Sports Medicine Centre’s specialist physiotherapists, Liz’s speciality area is contact injuries and has extensive experience in rugby league and water polo and particular expertise in shoulder and hip injuries.
