Orthopaedic Surgeons

A referral from your general practitioner is needed to see an orthopaedic specialist. South Sydney Sports Medicine is a private practice and does not bulk bill, however a portion can be claimed from Medicare for all consultations by orthopaedic specialists.
 

Dr Tim Musgrove

Dr Tim Musgrove specialises in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the knee and ankle, and knee replacement surgery.

Dr Musgrove completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy at The Cumberland College of Health Sciences (Sydney) in 1983, and worked as a Sports Physiotherapist in private practice before entering Medicine at The University of Sydney in 1985.

Dr Musgrove completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with honours in 1990, and advanced surgical training in Orthopaedics in 1997.

He then undertook Fellowship training with Dr Leo Pinczewski and Dr Kim Slater at North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre before entering private practice there in 2000.

Dr Musgrove is a member of The Australian Orthopaedic Association, Australian Medical Association and the Australian Knee Society, and is currently on the Executive Committee of the NSW Orthopaedic Association.

Dr Musgrove consults at North Sydney, Moore Park, Kensington and WIN Stadium Wollongong.

Dr Wade Harper

Dr Wade Harper is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in disorders of the shoulder and elbow. He performs arthroscopic, reconstructive and traumatic shoulder and elbow surgery. Arthroscopic surgery for shoulder instability and rotator cuff repairs are key interests.

He graduated from the University of Sydney in 1992. His residency was at the Prince of Wales Hospital. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2001. As an Orthopaedic surgeon he spent eighteen months in shoulder and elbow surgical training fellowships.

Dr Harper has an interest in teaching. He has created this website to assist in patient education. Dr Harper has teaching roles at under-graduate and post-graduate levels. Under-graduate teaching is for the University New South Wales. Post-graduate teaching is for the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) registrar training program. He was the AOA Training representative for the Prince of Wales Hospital from 2002-8.
